No-exam life insurance

Who gets fast underwriting, how it differs, and what happens if you do not.

Many carriers now offer fast underwriting: within age and amount limits, they choose based on your application, medication history, driving record, and other sources—no exam needed. Answers can come in hours. Each quote tells you if the product needs an exam, possibly needs one, or does not.

What it changes

Fast underwriting still checks your answers. A policy issued on wrong information can be contested within two years. When the carrier finds questions, it can still ask for an exam or labs; you can still decide whether to keep going.

Who tends to qualify

Most people younger than roughly 60, asking for amounts within the carrier's accelerated threshold, without serious health issues and no tobacco use for a year or more, qualify. Some carriers take recent doctor visit lab results instead of asking for a new exam.

An exam, if needed, means a paramedic visits your home or office in the West Hollywood area for 20 to 30 minutes free. Good results often raise your rate tier when you are healthy, so it might actually help.
